By now most people have heard the amazing story behind Tom’s Shoes…which goes a bit something like this…
“In 2006 an American traveler, Blake Mycoskie, befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by caring TOMS customers.
TOMS Shoes was founded on a simple premise: With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One. Using the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good is what we’re all about. The TOMS One for One business model transforms our customers into benefactors, which allows us to grow a truly sustainable business rather than depending on fundraising for support.”

Say “Yes to” organic carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes…for your hair? http://bit.ly/dsS7cC

In the ongoing search for organic and earth friendly hair care that actually works, I tried the “Yes to” brand…and FINALLY I was pleased with what I found! Not only is the price right, $8.99 for 16.9 oz of shampoo, the scent is subtle and clean, and my hair actually felt like it has been washed with salon products. Most organic brands I have tried have left my hair dry, squeaky and well, in a tangled mess…But this one, surprisingly, really worked! I am not totally crazy about the conditioner, its a bit too strong smelling for me, but the shampoo I highly recommend!
And to make it even more appealing, the company not only uses 100% organic ingredients, they also donate a portion of all Yes To proceeds to the Yes To Carrots™ Seed Fund, a non-profit, 501(C) 3 organization helping to make a difference in people’s lives through sustainable agriculture. Oh, and all products are Paraben and SLS free and provide a lovely sense of humor in their directions for use… “Gently work shampoo through your gorgeous locks, massaging your scalp soothingly with your fingertips.*May result in soft, stunning locks.”
Next up on the list to try- their Pomegranate SPF lip butter and the Cucumber Soothing Eye Gel!
